B.Tech Civil Engineering is considered to be the most versatile branch among all engineering disciplines. The civil engineering program is designed to develop the creative and knowledgeable engineering with strong capability of innovation and management. This branch deals with construction, designing and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment including the works like roads, bridges, dams, canals and buildings.
Civil engineering is the oldest and largest discipline which is traditionally broken into several sub-disciplines including environmental engineering, geophysics, geotechnical, geodesy, control engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, atmospheric sciences, earth science, urban engineering, water sources engineering, surveying, construction engineering, quantity surveying and coastal engineering etc.
Civil engineering takes place on all levels in public and private sector from individual owners through to the international organizations.
One of the primary departments of Indo Global College since its inception offers B Tech civil engineering degree program. Civil Engineering is a challenging field and the civil engineering department at Indo Global College actively promotes curriculum development activity by updating existing courses, developing new courses and preparing the best resource material for teaching.
We at Indo Global College are meeting the ever-changing and growing requirements of industry with the courses combining management, business skills and computers with engineering. The goal of department is to produce the highly qualified technical manpower required by industry, R&D organizations and academic institutions. We also encourage students to take part in extra-curricular activities essential for development, developing organization skills, nurturing of team spirit and inculcating the moral values and positive work culture.
For admission to Civil Engineering courses in B Tech at Indo Global College:
All those candidates who have passed Minimum THREE years / TWO years (Lateral Entry) Diploma examination from an AICTE approved Institution / Recognized University as defined by UGC with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in ANY branch of Engineering and Technology shall be eligible to apply.
All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination from board recognised or established by Central/State Government with Physics & Mathematics as a compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry/Biology/ Computer Science & Biotechnology.
Our civil engineering department has been planned on modern lines with state of art facilities to be utilized for research and consultancy in addition to training of the students. The students pursuing civil engineering at Indo Global College are trained in all aspects of this field and adequately prepared to be accepted globally. This lab deals with building materials and structural engineering. Testing of several materials is also conducted at these labs. Cement testing, concrete compressive strength, concrete mix designs, brick testing etc.
The lab is equipped with several instruments used for the structural analysis of different materials like cantilevers, trusses and steel beams etc.
Students learn about water and effluent testing. Consultancy services are also provided for BOD, COD testing, water testing, pH value, acidic value and viscosity of solution.
This lab deals with road construction materials and various tests are also taught to students like impact shape test, bituminous test, crushing value, Abrasian value, Aggregate test, penetration test, ductility test, softening point test, bitumen extraction test, Flash and fire point test.
This lab is equipped with latest software and computers required for structural solutions and designs in civil engineering. The lab is equipped with STAAD, AUTOCAD, PRO, Windows XP, Visual Studio, Audio visual aids to technical and several non-technical problems using computers. The department also undertakes a number of national level projects.
This lab is equipped with the equipments required for consolidation test, CBR test, Triaxial test, direct shear test, bearing capacity of soil by SPT test and plate load test.
Fluid mechanics lab works under survey lab and that is equipped with latest and automated testing machines for several types of flows and conducting extensive surveying.
Tensile Test and Compression Tests are done on computerized Universal Testing Machine.
