Today we
are in a technological world. Our education system has revolutionized
with the latest technologies like multimedia approach, audio-visual
aids, information technology and different types of network etc.
Consequently the other aspects of student's personality like Physical,
emotional and spiritual are not properly developed. We have shown slower
pace in our value system even when we have a strong heritage of human
values. To deal with these radical social changes, where technology and
values should proceed with equal pace, teacher education program can
play an important role.
We, here in IGCE equip our prospective
teachers with technology in one hand and values in another. The western
Scientific advancement and our indispensable Indian values are blended
together harmoniously in the IGCE. The objective here is the all round
development of future teachers. I am pleased and welcome your admission

Structure
The B.Ed Course is of one year duration and is
recognized by NCTE and affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala.
Apart from the five compulsory papers for all, the following
teaching subjects are available in our college:
1) Maths English 2) Maths Economics 3) Maths Punjabi.
4) Economics English 5) Economics Punjabi. 6) Economics Hindi 7)
Life Science English 8) Life Science Physical Science 9) Physical
Science Maths 10) S.St. Hindi 11) S.St.Punjabi 12) S.St. English.

Aesthetically designed well ventilated airy lecture rooms.
Beautifully designed air cooled library with latest books,
Encyclopedias, Journals, Magazines, Source books & Newspapers.

configuration and Internet facility.
Well-equipped Science Lab, Psychology Lab, Language Lab and
Modern education technology Lab with the latest gadgets of over head
projector, T.V., V.C.D., L.C. D. etc.

During 2004-2005 Examinations thirteen students secured
distinction.
One of our students, Ms Kiran stood second in the University
securing 82.5 % marks in B.Ed Exams.

Transfer of Teachings Skills
In order to impart teaching skills among the students, teacher
Micro Teaching, Simulated teaching is organized within the college.
It is followed by one month teaching practice in schools situated in
the neighborhood.
Annual Features
For the all-round development of the students the
college provides various activities in Sports & Cultural Events:
Talent search is an array of colorful and
delightful events.
Annual sports meet hosts a number of games and
events to sustain & develop the player within each student. Those
who excel are sent to compete at University level.
Free medical Camp for villagers of surrounding
villages are held at the campus in which students selflessly devote
their time & contribute towards medicines.
Blood Donation Camp is an annual feature of the
Campus.
"Caravan" Annual College function is a Colorful
Cultural Event.
Ten day N.S.S. camp inculcate the spirit of
voluntary work among the student teacher. It brings our academic
institution closer to society. Students are involved in various
activities like Environment cleanliness, Women education, Drugs abuse etc.
Co-curricular Activities
Besides imparting theoretical knowledge,
different types of curricular and Co-curricular activities are
organized in the college like:- Punjab day, Teachers' day celebration, Art Competetion,
Celebration of festivals like Dewali, Christmas, Lohri, Basant
Panchami and Holi.
Educational Trips are organized to places like Kasauli, Kurukshetra and Jaipur to inculcate the sense of social
emotional and national integration.
We have Tutorial groups / Houses in which tutors
tries to solve the personal and educational difficulties of their
respective wards. All the students are divided into nine tutorial
groups.
We are running Science Club, Literary Club,
Cultural Club and Sports Club to develop self confidence and
organizational skills among the students.

Eligibility
A candidate seeking admission to B.Ed course should have
qualified joint B.Ed Entrance Test Conducted by PU (Chd) 2006.
Bachelor's / Masters Degree with 50% marks in either of the two.
Fee Structure
As per State Govt /Punjabi University norms for
self financing Colleges.
Location
The campus is located at village Abhipur, 18 Kms
from PGI/Panjab University, Chandigarh, off Chandigarh Mullanpur Kurali
road or if you are coming from Punjab, it is 18 Kms from Kurali off
Kurali Siswan Road (NH 21 A)
